Italy is one of the most common destinations for apostilled Florida documents, especially for citizenship, residency, family matters, and education.

If you need to use Florida-issued documents in Italy, an apostille may be required.

Common Documents Sent to Italy

  • Birth certificates

  • Marriage certificates

  • Death certificates

  • Educational records

  • Court documents

  • Powers of Attorney

Italian citizenship applications frequently require properly authenticated documents.

Common Problems

  • Incorrect records

  • Missing certifications

  • Incomplete documentation

  • Country-specific requirements

Preparing Documents for Use in Italy

For Italian citizenship, residency, inheritance, or other legal matters, small inconsistencies can create significant delays. Names, dates, and places of birth should appear consistently across the entire document package. This is especially important for citizenship-by-descent applications, where documents from several generations may be reviewed together.

Before requesting an apostille, confirm the requirements with the Italian consulate, comune, attorney, or agency receiving your documents. The apostille authenticates the signature and official capacity shown on a document, but it does not translate the document or guarantee that a particular Italian authority will accept it.

Italian authorities may also request an Italian translation. We do not translate documents into Italian, so that requirement should be arranged separately with a qualified Italian translator. However, we can provide certified translations from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English whenever those language combinations are needed as part of your international document package.

Once your documents are completed, we can arrange FedEx delivery directly to Italy, including destinations such as Rome, Milan, Naples, Florence, Turin, Bologna, and Palermo. International FedEx transit time is separate from apostille processing time.

Rush apostille processing is available in as little as 1–2 business days after properly prepared documents are received. FedEx shipping and delivery times are additional.
